Happy Hallowe'en!
I'm not sure what we're actually doing for the night itself (probably very little as it's a 'school night') but we've been busy for the past month with themed events. We've been to a production of Young Frankenstein and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, herself has been on a murders of Vancouver history tour, we briefly checked out the Parade of Lost Souls (which was actually fun in a Canadian way - fun for fun's sake), and we've been to Stanley Park for the Ghost Train and Pumpkin Patch - see blurry, dark photo above

October update
Well, it's getting towards Hallowe'en so that means two things.
1) There are pumpkins absolutely everywhere.
2) There is a seemingly endless array of ghoulish productions to go to!
So far we've been to a production of Young Frankenstein and next week is The Rocky Horror Picture Show. And that's before the 'week' of Hallowe'en itself. From Ghost Trains in Stanley Park that we're too old for, to Fright Night at PNE that we're too scared for (probably).
It's also 'Fall' so it's cold, crisp, leafy and actually not raining!
And coming soon: lots of gigs. Streetlight Manifesto is next weekend.

September Update
An action packed summer has been and gone and several of our
Irish friends have left with it L
BUT, my dad is CURRENTLY in Vancouver and so I’ve turned
tour guide/entertainer. I’m still working regular 9-5 hours so we spent the
weekend together cycling, walking, eating and drinking and then we meet in the
evenings after work. Dad and Rita are in a constant battle to pay the bill
first. Luckily I paid on the first day before the competition began and we’ve
tricked him into eating dinner at our apartment a few times so far!
He leaves at the end of the month but not before we go to a
hockey game, a Whitecaps football game and the revolving rooftop restaurant.
Highlights of the summer included:
- Catching a wave or two in Hawaii
- Taking up skateboarding again (for transportation only) and not being the oldest person in the city to skateboard. (Not by a long shot)
- The hottest/warmest summer in Vancouver for years
- Making friends with the Mayo gang, lots of days and nights out (beach, pitch and putt, tedfest, Hawaii themed bbq)
- The return of outdoor cinema
- Lots of football with Whitecaps FC
- Stuffing my face for my birthday at a video game themed restaurant
- Too many nature walks in Stanley Park to mention
- Ok, we did see a turtle laying her eggs, that was pretty noteworthy
